
EEBUEF doles out N1.1m scholarship to 11 Oro students
The Edet Ekpo Bassey Uwe Educational Foundation (EEBUEF), has awarded N1.1m worth of scholarships to eleven deserving students of Oro Nation.
The award ceremony took place at the Villa Hilton Hotel, Uyo, on Tuesday, when the Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria, USA (AKISAN-USA), splashed nearly scholarships to 140 Akwa Ibom Students.
According to Lady Nkoyo Ekpo, CEO/Founder of EEBUEF, the foundation is delighted and proud to be part of the scholarship programme, which aims to support the education of Akwa Ibom sons and daughters.
She announced that eleven candidates have met the AKISAN-USA scholarship requirements, quoting Malcom X’s words, “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.”
EEBUEF, a non-governmental organization founded in 2019 in honour of Lady Ekpo’s late father, Chief Edet Ekpo Bassey Uwe, identifies scholarship programmes as strategic key to unlocking the doors to education for a rewarding future.
“The foundation, in conjunction with AKISAN-USA, is committed to supporting the education of Akwa Ibom students, ensuring a brighter future for them.
“The scholarship award is a significant milestone in the foundation’s efforts to support education in the state, and the beneficiaries are expected to make the most of this opportunity to achieve their academic goals”, she stated.. The beneficiaries are Mr Sylvester Enengedi, Miss Anthonia Emmanuel Etim, Miss Deborah Victor Etim, Mr Samuel Ekpenyong and Miss Comfort Frank. Others include Mr Oscar Emmanuel, Miss Mary Edeke, Mr Sylvester Essien, Miss Faith Raphine Essang, Mr Shalom Afahaeme and Mr Johnson Edet Edet. The NGO also supported the education of two students with a sum of One Hundred thousand naira through Street Mentora Network and APNANG
